Wednesday 21st october

ClayField Farm

A full-day retreat-style workshop that replaces the content creator ick with a habit you'll actually enjoy — built entirely from the life you're already living.

Does creating "content" on top of everything else you do as a business owner drive you mad?

You're not alone.

And it really doesn't have to feel that way.

Your Storybook is a full-day retreat-style workshop for small business owners who are done with hooks, rigid content calendars and performing for an algorithm that couldn't care less about them.

Because you didn't start your business to become a content creator.

You started it because you love what you do.

This day is about finding a more natural, human way to share that.

And Autumn feels like exactly the right moment to start.

hi, I'm Holly

I'm a storytelling brand photographer and the founder of Roots + Tales — 22 years of telling stories through a lens.

In that time I've sat alongside hundreds of small business owners doing brilliant, meaningful work. And I've noticed the same thing again and again. The people doing the most interesting work find it the hardest to talk about it online.

I get it — because I'm exactly the same.

Here's what I've learned. The most connecting content rarely starts with the product. It starts with something ordinary — a moment from your day, something you noticed, something that made you stop and think.

And when people resonate and feel that human connection first, everything else lands differently.

Your Storybook is a full day dedicated to finding what that looks like for you.

If we spend the day together, you'll leave being able to...

FIND YOUR THREAD

Uncover the thing that runs through everything you do - and understand how to use it as the foundation to every story you tell.

Tell your unique stories

Pick up your phone, notice something from your day and know exactly how to turn that into content that feels genuinely you.

LEAVE a thriving storyteller

You won't just leave with ideas - you'll leave with posts written, scheduled and ready to go. Hit the ground running before you've even got home.

"The Storybook approach reframes everything. Instead of thinking about 'content' I'm now thinking - what stories do I want to share? What am I building? That shift alone made the whole thing feel fun."

September's retreat feedback -

worries and all

INTIMIDATED? SO WAS SHE.

That nearly stopped one attendee from booking at all. She left saying Holly explained everything so well, the pace was perfect.

WORRIED ABOUT THE PRICE?

So was another, until she spotted the payment plan. She left saying she could finally write stories and content without wracking her brain all day.

NOT A CONTENT PERSON?

That's most of the room and the reason to come. One attendee's highlight of the whole day? "All of it, me dear."

Ready to ditch the ick for good?

your day

morning

SEE IT DIFFERENTLY • We settle in, grab a tea or coffee and get straight into it. Your printed workbook is on the table, ready to go. A short, practical photography session — the small shifts that make capturing everyday moments feel completely different. Then we find your thread. The thing that runs through everything you do, everything that makes your business yours.

TAKE IT OUTSIDE • Clayfield Farm is a beautiful working farm — open fields, shepherd's huts, wandering peacocks, vast trees and views that make you want to slow down and notice. Good thing that's exactly what we're here for. Let's head out for some photography and story seeking.

lunch

TIME TO RECHARGE • A proper pause. Lunch from the wonderful Olive & Belle — a beautiful, abundant grazing table to gather around, eat well and connect.

(please note any allergy or dietary needs at checkout)

afternoon

THIS IS WHERE IT CLICKS • Everything you've noticed — now we weave it together in your workbook. Real moments becoming content that actually sounds like you.

MAKE IT, SCHEDULE IT, DONE • Laptops open. Canva open — but not like you've used it before. You'll leave with posts written, designed and even posted if you're up for it. Stories ready to go before you've even got home.

What you'll need to join us?

01

A laptop and your phone

For the practical side of the day - building, scheduling and leaving with everything ready to go. Your phone is a powerful storytelling tool and you already have it in your pocket

02

Canva Pro

We'll use this on the day to create and schedule your posts. Free trial available if you don't already have it but the pro version is required for the last part of the day

03

Claude or ChatGPT

We'll use some tailor made prompts on the day to get your storytelling ball rolling - free versions work perfectly

04

Your eyes and an open mind

Ready to notice the world around you a little differently - and leave the content creator hat at the door

Ready to ditch the ‘content creator’ hat for good?

FAQ's

What if I've tried content CALENDARS and strategies before and it just didn't feel right?

That's exactly why this day exists. You're not learning how to perform or follow a trend — you're finding a way that actually feels right to you. That shift alone changes everything.

I'm not very techy — will I be okay?

Completely. The Canva session is designed for people who've never used it this way before. We go through everything step-by-step and you won't be left behind.

One September attendee nearly didn't book because she was intimidated, worried she wouldn't be able to do it. She left saying the pace was perfect.

What if I can't think of anything interesting to share?

You already have more than you think. The whole day is built around helping you see that — noticing what's already happening in your life and your work, and realising that's more than enough. You'll leave wondering how you ever thought you had nothing to say.

What's included in the £120?

A full day at Clayfield Farm, a printed workbook, lunch from Olive & Belle and beverages throughout the day. But honestly? The biggest things you're leaving with are a whole new belief in how you can show up online — and the realisation that you've spent the day with a room full of people who felt exactly the same way you did. You're not alone in this.

… and if £120 upfront isn't the easiest shape for you, you can spread it over 3 weekly payments of £40 instead, as long as you book by 6th October.

What happens once I've booked?

You'll get a confirmation straight away with everything you need to know ahead of the day. All you need to do is turn up.

Do I need to drive myself there?

The venue's a bit out of the way, in Pocklington which is part of what makes it feel like a proper day away from the desk. If you don't drive, don't let that stop you - a lift-share between attendees is easy to arrange, and it's worked well before.

I don't really enjoy posting, is this still for me?

That's most of the room, if we're honest. One attendee described her own dislike of "disciplined action and posting" as nearly the thing that stopped her. She left saying "all of it" was the highlight.

If i don’t own a business yet, can i still attend?

No matter where you are along your journey, you are welcome. The doors are open and your apron is waiting.

and just before half term turns the house upside down.

Come finish this year on your own terms.
